The Algerian international has said that he wants Foxes exit in January in the pursue of first team football.

Slimani joined City in 2016 from Sporting Lisbon and has made 30 appearances scoring 7 goals.

Islam was originally signed to be the perfect partner for Jamie Vardy but it hasn’t planned out the way he anticipated.

Starting just one Premier League game this season has made it frustrating for Islam who was promised regular first team football when signing for the record fee.

Watford and Newcastle both made contact with Leicester about a transfer for the Algerian international but Leicester wanted to recoup most of the transfer fee back which neither teams were willing to meet.

It’s been a difficult time for Slimani at Leicester

With Sporting Lisbon making contact with Leicester about a return to the Portuguese side it is looking very likely the club will sign him back for a margin of the fee they originally sold him for.

It’s obvious Slimani has talent, especially with his head, but Puel does not see a future for the 29 year old striker.
