All matches are expected to be played with no supporters to combat coronavirus

Premier League matches could be played behind closed doors as early as this weekend

Leicester’s victory against Aston Villa on Monday night may be the last time you will see the Foxes play live in person this season.

The Premier League called off Arsenal’s clash with Manchester City at the Eithad on Wednesday night over Cornavirus fears and it’s about to get a lot worse later this afternoon.

The government are expected to shift to the ‘delay phase’ of the virus which is highly likely to impact football and large gathering events.

It is being reported that all fans who have match tickets for  Premier League games will be able to watch the matches within the comfort of their own homes via a stream.

Pubs will not be allowed to show games to avoid congestion of people and the 3pm kick offs will also not be broadcast.

The strict guidelines of continuing the games behind closed doors means that the current campaign is completed on schedule with minimal risk of spreading the virus.

The Times are reporting already that this scenario will be happening today.
