The charge will mean Slimani will return back to Leicester this summer having played just 130 minutes for Newcastle.

Sadly a huge £2m loan fee and excessive wages of £80,000 per week means he will go down in history as a massive flop at Newcastle.

Islam joined Newcastle on January deadline day

The Algerian signed on deadline day in January, however due to a thigh injury he was on the sidelines until March.

Slimani was keen to impress at Newcastle to force a move away, which is now unlikely to happen.

Islam has until Tuesday 1st May to appeal against the decision, but a 3 game ban is likely.
