January transfer window is nearly with us
We’ve rounded up the latest Leicester City January transfer news
Islam Slimani –> Fulham (£14m)
Slimani joined City in 2016 from Sporting Lisbon for a club-breaking record of £29m. He joined after scoring 31 goals in 46 games for the Portuguese side.
The 29 year old forward signed on a five-year deal and has not managed to break through for the Foxes.
Claudio Ranieri is looking to sign the Algerian for half of what he paid at Leicester.
Leicester will allow him to leave if Fulham can strike up a deal.
Andy King –> West Bromwich Albion (loan)
Andy King has spent almost his entire football career with Leicester and is now ready to leave to find first team football.
King has been a great servant for City where he has won League One, The Championship and the Premier League.
Claude Puel does not see King in Leicester’s plans and has told him he can leave the club.
West Brom are looking to sign King on loan to boost their hopes of being promoted back to the Premier League.
Adrian Silva –> Sporting Lisbon
Adrien Silva’s career in Leicester did not get off to a good start after Leicester were 14 seconds too late to register the signing with Fifa.
Leicester appealed the decision however the world governing body stood by the rejection and Adrien had to wait 4 months to officially be a Foxes player.
The hype around Silva and his experience playing with Ronaldo for Portgual didn’t pay off and his time here has been a massive disappointment.
He will almost certainly leave in January as Sporting are willing to take him back, however the financials of a deal could prove an issue.
Adrien will have to take a pay cut or Leicester would have to send him out on loan paying a percentage of his wages.
Leicester City are again linked with the Liverpool defender.
Clyne suffered a back problem which ruled him out of the World Cup, and he hasn’t featured in a Premier League game this season.
Fulham and Cardiff are also in for the former Southampton man.
Macauley Bonne (£500k)
Leicester are leading the chase for the next ‘Jamie Vardy’ in Leyton Orient’s Macauley Bonne.
The Striker has already scored 17 goals for the National League leaders .
There are five Premier League teams and Six Championship sides who have already shown interest in the in-form striker who could be a future star.
