Filip Benkovic has spoken since after his loan move to the Scottish champions.
He only joined City on 9th August from Dinamo Zagreb for a fee of £13m.
After he realised that Harry Maguire wanted to stay at the Foxes he knew that first team game time would be limited.
The Croatian asked Puel to let him leave on loan to gain more experience with several clubs showing an interest.
With many European clubs to choose from he decided that Celtic would be the right move so he could acclimatise to intensity and physicality of British football.
Benkovic said in a recent interview
“I was at Leicester for 3 weeks and it was great, but I didn’t want to spend all season on the bench so I spoke to the manager and told him how much I respect the club, but I want to improve and the only way to do that is to get games.
“I’m young, I need the minutes on the park and the manager agreed with me.
“I want to play as much as possible, so a season-long loan with Celtic was agreed and Leicester has the option of recalling me in the winter.
“There were other loan options – clubs in Italy, Spain and Germany, but I just wanted to go to Celtic.
“I think this is the best option for me for preparing for football in England and their Premier League – that’s why I am delighted to go to Celtic.
Leicester have the option to recall his loan in January should his services be required back in England.
